On Friday April 1 , Daniels accompanied Mo’nique on stage during her comedy show at the St. George Theater in Staten Island, New York. He took this opportunity to publicly apologize to her about any hurt he has caused her in the past.
“Sometimes in life you get caught up… and it took me a long time to realize. I am so sorry for hurting you in any way that I did.” Lee Daniels said. In a video posted on YouTube.
According to Deadline, the two reconciled before it was announced Mo’Nique would be starring in Daniel’s upcoming film “Demon House”. Octavia Spencer was originally set to star in the role however she dropped out due to scheduling conflict.
Daniels then inquired Mo’nique to star in the thriller about a social worker who helps a family through a series of exorcisms. Fans of both stars’ work are excited to see them create and work together again.
